Be it ever so humble, there’s no place like home!  Join us at Pioneer Day at Jesse Jones Park.  Visit our tent for hands-on activities, crafts, bone identification, and a mock-excavation. Discover how Texans lived after they began to transform the frontier into farms and create homes of their own.

At Pioneer Day, re-enactors demonstrate settler life in Stephen F. Austin’s colony during the 1820s and early 1830s. Old-fashioned crafts, music, demonstrations, and period re-enactments bring the homestead to life.  From 12-1 pm, you will have the chance to hear the Houston School of Irish Music Band.
