Big hair has always been in! The hairstyles of Renaissance women created a sense of identity and power. Learn how these elaborate designs were produced. This lecture/demonstration features a live recreation of a Renaissance hairstyle along with discussion of artifacts and technology from the period, the literature of grooming and hairdressing, and the practical and social ramifications of hair in Renaissance daily life.
