Some of the magnificent statues, pillars, temples, and reliefs uncovered at Göbekli Tepe date back an astonishing 14,000 years. They have been touted as evidence of alien landings or as the site of the gate of heaven. In fact, they are the most magnificent and best-preserved artifacts from a well-known culture of the Neolithic, a revolutionary period in humankind’s development that lead to the creation of agriculture and village life.
