STORIES

Our Stories

“In the beginning …”  A story was told that still reaches us today.  Our dreams, our adventures, our loves, our tragedies, our beginnings, our endings are all contained in the stories we tell.  Archaeology connects us to our many stories by relating tales from the past, keeping memory alive, and helping us better understand one another.

Join Archaeology Now as we invite you to become part of the story.

SPEAKING OF STORIES

We've changed our name– but not our goal.

The Archaeological Institute of America - Houston Chapter has changed its name to Archaeology Now. Just as history progresses over time, so did our organization. We sure like this change, and we hope you do too.

Archaeology Now explores how the past is relevant and how it informs our lives today and in the future.

We believe that sharing this knowledge is vital to our survival. Archaeology Now searches the world for the brightest minds, the most innovative thinkers, the most cutting-edge researchers to bring our many
stories to Houston.

GET TO KNOW

Why should you care about someone else’s stories? Other people’s stories are your stories as well! They may come from a different time or place, but they’re all part of our human story.  Archaeologists have been telling the world’s most fascinating stories for millennia, and archaeology allows all of our ancestors to speak to us and to future generations.
