INTRODUCING THE 2018/2019 SEASON
Who are you? Who do you think you are?
You might define yourself by national, ethnic, religious, or gender identity. But there is more that makes up the complex being that is “you.”
This year, we invite you to take a personal journey to examine how different aspects of “you” have been defined through the centuries.
Join Archaeology Now as we explore the dynamics of identity and how history connects and defines who we are as people today.
SPEAKING OF IDENTITY
We've changed our name– but not our goal.
The Archaeological Institute of America - Houston Chapter has changed its name to Archaeology Now. Just as history progresses over time, so did our organization. We sure like this change, and we hope you do too.
GET TO KNOW
Why should you care about someone else’s stories? Other people’s stories are your stories as well! They may come from a different time or place, but they’re all part of our human story. Archaeologists have been telling the world’s most fascinating stories for millennia, and archaeology allows all of our ancestors to speak to us and to future generations.
WHAT WE DO
Archaeology Now promotes awareness and appreciation of world cultures through archaeology
HOW TO SUPPORT
We invite you to join Archaeology Now to help future audiences remember, and future generations learn about a cultural heritage that links us together
Learning is a lifelong adventure— we provide events that nurture the next generation & seniors, examine local heritage, help preserve history, and are family-friendly!
